Top 5 tips to grow your FPL YouTube Channel

By FPL Video Templates | Posted July 2022
Struggling to grow your FPL channel, here are my top 5 tips:
1. Graphics
FPL YouTube content is growing every year, so it’s more vital than ever to stand out from the crowd. A good first impression can go a long way. Using impressive graphics will catch the attention of potential subscribers. It's no coincidence that the likes of FPL Tips, FPL Mate and Lets Talk FPL all have high quality graphics.

What If you have no graphic design experience?
Not to worry FPL Video Templates has got you covered.  FPL Video templates is an online library where you can download high quality, easy-to-use, fully customisable graphics. Use the resources available to your advantage.

2. Audio
There is no doubt that poor audio can severely damage your audience retention. What you must remember is not everyone is paying attention to your visuals. Some may be listening to your content whilst on their commute to work, or played out loud whilst doing some house work. Thus having quality sound is so important. You can have stunning graphics, record in 4K, but when the sound goes off it doesn't matter how good your content is. So don’t be shy to invest in a good mic. In my personal opinion it’s well worth the money.

3. Consistency
The key to any YouTube channel is consistency. It’s no secret that YouTube rewards consistent channels by ranking them higher in the search results. Let’s face it, YouTube generates revenue by selling ads on videos. Therefore, when you create consistent quality content, the YouTube algorithm recognises this and promotes your video to a wider audience.

An easy way to be consistent is to create a schedule. That way, your subscribers know when to expect your videos and you have a way to keep yourself accountable. Don’t get me wrong creating regular videos is hard work, but the harder you work, the luckier you'll get. So set yourself targets and just try your best. Don’t be driven by how many likes or subscribers you have but rather how many videos you can upload on consistence basis.
4. Start Early
Upload, upload, upload…If you want to build your subscribers quick, do not underestimate the importance of uploading consistently during preseason and the opening gameweeks. Doing this gives you a head start in algorithm. As soon as the FPL game has restarted you should aim to upload as much content before gameweek 01. Whether it be GW01 draft team,  player analysis, new signings or even player prices. The early stages of the season is where the maximum buzz is. Thus you want to leverage on this as much as possible. It’s no accident that the big FPL channels get a big chunk of their subscribers during the early stage of the seasons.

5. Ranking History
Personally I don’t think it should matter, but the truth is, if you have a good FPL ranking history, you should express it (try not to sow off though). Ultimately your audience are watching your videos to get advice and tips. They may be competing in a work mini league and are searching for content that gives them the edge. Having a good ranking history gives you credibility and builds confidence with your subscribers. Thus resulting in more subscribers.

But what if you don’t have a good rank?
Well don’t be ashamed about it. In fact be open about it. The worst thing you can do is pretend to be something your not. Instead let your audience know your objective, let them feel they are part of the journey. Get your audience involved and create a more collective approach. Remember the majority of players wont make it in the top 10k.
